The Road: Chapter 4Seraph put on his black shirt, and then clipped on his tactical harness before pulling on his brown jacket. He slid his Browning Hi Power pistol into the holster, and then three clips of ammo into the packs on his harness. He checked his numerous pockets on his pants, making sure he had everything. Map, keys, fake ID for the UN checkpoint, yep, that was everything. His knife was on his harness as well, and he grabbed his neckless adorned with a red cross, putting it on. He checked his watch. 1:32 PM. He had about an hour to get there. He could make it. As he pulled his jacket sleeve back over his watch, he heard someone knock at his bedroom dThe Road: Chapter 4

The Road: Chapter 3Aires sat on the pile of rubble, her head in her hands and her M16 in her lap. The sun was setting over the wrecked Istanbul skyline and she could see lights turning on at checkpoints on the Road. Even in a city like this, it got a little more peaceful at night. No more distant crackle of gun fire. No thundering explosions. Just...nothing. She wished it could stay like this forever. She was interrupted by boots crunching on pieces of concrete. Aires looked behind her and saw Seraph, his AK over his shoulder and his uniform stained with blood. He had been working clean up around the Crusader base, treating wounded, finding bodies, and moving nThe Road: Chapter 3

She looked again and saw a robotic arm, seeing the wires, motors, and mechanisms, barely encased by some sort of metal plating. The Crusader was working with some wiring near her shoulder. He looked up at her and saw she was awake. He had messy dark brown hair, and some noticable stubble on his face. The Crusader had piercing gray blue eyes that showed stroThe Road: Chapter 2

The Road: Chapter 1Aires sat down at the old wooden table, sipping her coffee. Like most coffees she drank, it was crap, but she kept drinking. She looked around the cafe, seeing two employees, many patrons, and what looked like a Marauder soldier standing near the door, holding a worn FN FAL assault rifle. High ranking one too. Wonder what he was doing here, at another typical, run down Istanbul cafe. Aires had just gotten here a week ago, looking for work. So far, she had an odd job or two, but nothing serious. If she didnt find something steady soon, she'd run out of cash and be on the streets. And living on the streets and living in a warzone isnThe Road: Chapter 1
